Willa, the Tortoise, the wolf...and..oh yeah...Donald the Green donkey....

We find ourselves peeking into the window of "mindlovemisery" as she struggles to find a course for her untitled epic fairy tale about a homely princess (Willa), a smart mouth tortoise and a wise-ass wolf (both as yet unnamed).

An enterprising capitalist has erected a bleacher and is selling seats, peanuts, hot dogs and cold beer.

A representative of the "PITA" is passing out pamphlets accusing animal cruelty and disparaging remarks about a poor homely girl who couldn't defend herself.

The right side of the bleachers have dressed in red and is cheering for the tortoise. The other side is dressed in blue and is cheering for the wolf.

"MLM" is perplexed. She loves the tortoise because he has been true to the plain Princess Willa but the silver wolf has promise of turning into a prince charming and the prince of of his own kingdom.

The tortoise has no chance of becoming a dashing hero to carry the plain Willa off but the wolf is another story. Wolves have transformed into heroes and villains since the beginning of myth telling.

But, why not the tortoise?  What the hell MLM, it's your story so why not make a bold swath through the world of mythology and have the tortoise mutate into a handsome prince.  Why is it always frogs or wolves.

"Nay, nay," scream the blue shirts. "It is always the frog or the wolf and there are no frogs in this story so it has to be the wolf."

"Stop, everyone just stop," MLM cries. "You write the story and make your own hero. I'm going to curl up with a bag of popcorn and  a story about "Donald the Green Donkey" written by Old Grizz who has not been able to come to grips with PITA and Blue/Red arguments and simply says..."Green donkeys are easier to write about than wolves and tortoises..."

I'm routing for Willa -- what colour shall I wear -- perhaps green in honour of the donkey. I think you possess a green donkey your self.
