Seasoned

Seasoned, you asked...yes
I believe that's me
seasoned like a stack of well aged hay

piled in the field of life
enjoying the sun
withstanding the wind and the rain

the weather has not bothered me
but only helped me grow
and contribute to the world

the horses, the cows and the sheep
will take from me
so I can earn my way

I give freely because I believe
there are better things in life
than to become moldy and waste away

  3. Indeed there are better things in life than becoming moldy and wasting away, and writing such accomplished poetry as yours is an example!

  4. Couldn't agree more Grizz. Coming from what is beginning to look like a great age (although not so much these days) I try not to be mouldy, although the world has got me down lately. Up and at 'em must be the intent.

  5. Seasoned, battered, dashes of salt and pepper...we have been doing with our food, now life is doing it with us. Something like campaign medals I suppose.

  7. I loved this! But one must remember that allowing oneself to be nibbled on by horses means you might also reap the "output," hee hee. But then, even that will help you grow all the more.

Grizz, I love your outlook on the world. You're a sailor on a planet with too many trudging drones. Love, Amy

    1. wow what great compliment but remember... a little horse manure gives a someone the smell of a real person.
One more thing...the best smelling roses have been fertilized with manure
