come what may

come what may
I've looked far and wide
but cannot find a word to say

I walked the streets
 sat in the park
even read Yeats and Keats

but all to now avail
come what may
feels like I'm in jail

so I just wandered up and
down the streets
and ended up at Whiskey Pete's

I may not be able to write
come what may
guess I'll try come what might

I love the flow of this piece, I sense sadness, a bit of resignation, but an underlying strength. Its a wonderful poem.

    1. thanks, you remind of the best teacher I ever had..always found something good in everything I wrote...this prompt left me with a blank mind or I've always had a blank mind and this prompt outed me.

  2. Whiskey Pete's might loosen up the words not found before!

    1. I don't think that even whiskey would help me here.

  3. I liked this GS, sometimes we have the desire to write but can't find the words we want to say. This piece says it well. If I were to stop at Whiskey Pete's the words that would follow would likely not be fit to print. Alcohol tends to dissolve any filters and common sense that exists within my scrambled brain. :-/

I was struggling to write today....so used my loss of words to find words? Anyway, I really enjoyed this and LOVE Yeats. :)

  5. I have a feeling the entire poetic blogosphere is feeling frazzled after Napo. I just wrote a nonsense poem, so we're on the same wavelength, Grizz.
