Mentoring comes from the soul
only the special
can teach those that need
they come from a special place
they give their knowledge
they give their skill
they give their hearts
so
you and I
can learn and grow
so
you and I
can be better
so
to my special mentor
from the bottom of my heart
I thank you
A nice tribute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute to a special mentor!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully put.
ReplyDeleteNice to acknowledge our influences.
ReplyDeleteSays it all.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem for her. Did you take workshops from her or discover her in blogland? I'm also a Healing Artist, although not formally schooled in using story-telling, although I'm trained as a Speech-Language Therapist, among other hats. I use visual arts, poetry therapy, and other expressive arts, teach workshops in my practice as a full time artist. I had removed my art blog a while back, but am thinking of reinstating it. I looked on the roster of the upcoming conference I'm attending to see if your mentor is coming... I'm so excited to be participating in workshops from people from all over the world in the field of healing arts.
ReplyDeleteI used to never write humor for reasons that go back to childhood. However, as an adult, I decided to give it a try when I realized the power of laughter is so healing. I figured my writing didn't need to be top notch to share my corny thoughts. BTW, I am sleeping more regularly! (Plus, I liberally use writer's license...)
It sounds like you had a very special person in mind when you wrote this. Nicely done!
